Premium overseas travel insurance ‘Insuplus’ announced on May 2nd that it has improved its remote video consultation service process to further enhance customer satisfaction.
BizInsight Co., Ltd., the company behind Insuplus, began offering overseas emergency medical support in 2013, identifying the lack of accessible healthcare as the most critical risk for travelers and expatriates. It now operates a global life care brand called Flying Doctors.
Originally a service offered to corporate clients, Flying Doctors expanded its reach to individual consumers in 2019 with the launch of the Insuplus travel insurance, gaining considerable attention. Services provided through Insuplus include 24/7 medical consultations, hospital information and reservations, payment guarantees, remote consultations, medical interpretation, and even air ambulance evacuations when necessary.
Positioning itself as a premium travel insurance provider rather than a basic policy, Insuplus has recently overhauled its remote video consultation service for greater user convenience.
Previously working with the telemedicine platform Dr. Here through an MOU, Insuplus responded to customer feedback about cumbersome registration and verification steps. At Insuplus’s request, Dr. Here streamlined the process so customers can now choose their preferred date and time through a dedicated consultation booking link, input essential information and symptoms, and confirm an appointment almost immediately—without the need for membership registration or complex authentication.
Consultations can be scheduled as soon as two hours in advance on the same day, reducing travel and wait times at clinics and allowing users to receive care comfortably from any location.
Insuplus also ensures that a dedicated Korean doctor is assigned to each customer. Patients can communicate their symptoms in detail via video and audio, delivering a level of accuracy comparable to in-person consultations. In the U.S., prescriptions can also be issued following a consultation.
An Insuplus representative commented, “We hope the improved remote video consultation service enables our customers to receive fast and convenient medical care, no matter where they are in the world,” adding, “We remain committed to actively listening to our customers and continuously improving our services.”
